Good going Bruce Miller for you Showing in the Audio X show this past weekend…
Two OnCore Sm 12″
I had a great, but exhausting, weekend. It started out Friday morning when I left the house at 6:00 AM to go see my friends at Audio X in Florence, Alabama. I hung out with William Coats, Trevor, and Evan Perez while Steve Cook worked his magic on my stereo’s tune. Luckily there were far less issues this time than when I visited a month ago.
Saturday I relaxed in the hotel until check out time then I headed back to the shop to try something with my laptop. I managed to learn something this weekend, when using a Helix it seems to be best to always tune with the same laptop. Anyway, I had lunch with a couple of the guys, Cook bailed me out of trouble one last time, then I got in the 4Runner and headed to Lebanon, TN for a stereo competition.
Saturday evening was nice and relaxing. I hung out with Heather and Allan Shaffer for a couple of hours until Micheal Flanagan and Steve Carnahan showed up. We then had a nice dinner at O’ Charley’s then went back to the hotel for some RTA tuning. After that I collapsed in my “amazing” hotel room and tried to sleep the next six hours.
Sunday arrived so I headed to the competition, The Vinny. For years this has been known as the pre-finals show. This year they had an all star cast of judges, most if not all will be judging finals. Matt Roberts, Grace, Heather, and Vinny were there. To make it even better Richard Papasin and Linda Kobayashi flew in to judge our vehicles.
Unfortunately the normally huge event was lacking participants. We ended up with only ten or eleven Sound Quality vehicles. We didn’t let that stop us though, we still had a great day. The only negative was the heat.
I managed to get second place in Sound Quality Modified, first in Modified install, first in RTA as well as winning SQL best of show by a very small margin.
After the show I drove 6-1/2 hours to get home. I made it around 12:30 am and I was exhausted.
As always, thanks to Tam Nguyen, Steve Cook, Rishi S Gurbani, Ed Rice,John Borges, and Matt Borgardt. I couldn’t do it without you guys and your amazing products. Also thanks to Steve Stern, without him there would be no MECA.
